For my Rayman mod which I have most of the sprites including sprites for blue spheres I would like to add a custom 3d special stage model to make it more complete. I have no idea how to do this, can you just use any model, or does it have to be low poly? Would this model work : https://www.models-resource.com/dreamcast/rayman2thegreatescape/model/17577/ ? I assume it's not just simple replacing of the models and everything works, but I have almost 0 experience with 3d modeling and I haven't really found anything on how you mod special stages, but obviously some people know how to do it, so it would be really nice if you could tell me, as it would also help others for sure.
Found it out myself, maybe this helps someone who stumbles upon this :
For the models you need this tool https://github.com/koolkdev/rsdkv5_extract/releases to convert 3d models to .bin files to be used with the game. To do this you need to enter the command "3d2mdl output.bin frame1_model [frame2_model [...]]" into a command prompt (or power shell for Win 10) inside the folder where the downloaded .exe is located. Put the model name instead of frame1_model etc. - Each animation frame has to be it's own model, I hope this is understandable. I myself found it really obscure how hard this was to find even though there is a tool perfectly made for this, but today I found it looking in the comments of the Mario 3D model mod. Hope this helps
