better reflections pls

A Question for Source Engine

cubemaps + very reflective surfaces = bad reflections

I saw some videos where water properties were applied to some textures and i tried it myself but that didn't work. Is it really possible to get real time reflections on textures like tilefloor ones ?

PS : I only want that on floor textures

    It's possible to "fake it" using a water brush over the top of flooring, but that's about the only way without tweaking the engine code.

    Whenever you see people doing "real time" reflections in Source, this is likely the trick they're using.

    Real-time reflections on Source games? Uh no, it's an engine limitation.

    Valve doesn't use a slightly 'dynamic' on-screen space reflections. It is slightly dynamic, but still very limited.

    Source 2 is graphically dated, it's basically just Source (CSGO version) engine, souped up, Vulkan and VR support.
