How to you edit the level color palettes? And, if so, how do you get it to not bug out? Everytime I tried, it had no background, colors were messed up, and it was weird. Anyone know how to fix this?

You edit level palettes in two ways.
One: Levels like green hill zone are what I would call the Beginner stages. They let you edit the palette from the .gif file for everything but the rotating palette, just use GraphicsGale or GIMP for that.

Two: The advanced method, for stages like Mirage Saloon. You first download ManiaHex or ManiaPal, then edit the StageConfig file and remove all the lines (except the ones with rotating palettes, just edit those to what you need.) Then you can edit the .gif file without worry.

The thing with blackened palettes happened to me when porting a 1.03 stage mod to 1.06, a common problem is that the entire palette has checked lines that're completely black. Check your StageConfig, and if it looks fine (all unchecked), save the .gif palette, replace the file the original stage's 16x16tiles.gif, and paste the tileset you need to that .gif after importing the palette you saved.
