The AR2 is a much rougher mesh to work with just cause the UV & textures were built specifically for the view mesh so don't any miracles, just trying to do what I can for it. Even though the Sniper Rounds went unused, decided to enhance it with the box texture from Survivor and the rounds from the leak (now will be 128 x 64 instead of 32 x 16). Even though there should be a way to spawn them ingame through the console, don't know how yet. I personally really like the Pre-Orange Box version of the AR2 Alt ammo so including that as well. Started looking at the crowbar and bugbait, I may or may not deal with the stunstick and bunker gun.

A Vanilla Plus Type Weapon Pack

May or may not be called "Retail Plus Weapon Pack" once it's finished. This is taking much longer than what I initially thought so I feel a WIP page is appropriate.

I more or less want a last hurrah for the retail weapons to make them look their best without going HD. Also want this to be ideal for anyone who wants to do a vanilla plus type of modded playthrough.

Current Features:
- Completed Gravity Gun view model (edited mesh to have extra light and two bars on the right side)
- Resized shells
- Shell ejection for Pistol and SMG view models
- Completed Crossbow (Onemanshow)
- New SMG world model (rebuilt from SirGibsAlot's SMod Weapon Prop's SMG1 to match NPC animations)
- Improved textures and material edits (MMod & SMod Weapon Props)
- Rebuilt Super Gravity Gun view textures from the leak sheet
- Optional HL2 Survivor alt pistol texture (rebuilt from leak sheet)
- Completed shotgun (using rear half of L4D2 spas)
- Optional shotgun folded stock (Hook and Hookless versions)
- Optional SMG Stock
- 357 speedloader (Replaced Onemanshow's with MMod's)
- Implemented Onemanshow's SMG GL barrel size on world mesh
- Implemented Onemanshow's fixed view models (Pistol, SMG, AR2, Shotgun, and Crossbow)
- Enhanced BoxSniperRounds (Box texture from HL2S, Round texture from the beta)
- Enhanced pistol shell (rebuilt from the leak textures)

Planned Features:
- Optional blue AR2 from HL2S (along with an optional wooden version)

Future Plans:
- Optional SMG view model based on edited world mesh
- Rebuild Stunstick from HL2 Deathmatch's view model
- Optional wooden stock AR2

Everything is subject to change and that does include the credits so I miss anyone please inform me and I'll fix it ASAP.

Fun Facts:
- Was initially going to consist of world model textures rebuilt from the view, which worked great for the pistol and SMG but not great for other weapons like the Gravity Gun and shotgun
- Was using MMod VMT settings but since some weapons like the SMG were just too shiny as a world model, gradually moving over to SirGibsALot's VMT settings.

    Maybe it's just me, but the stock for the shotgun looks a little smaller than it should be, is there any chance you could look into that?

    I like what I see, and I have some relatively uncommon advice from my own adventures in modding:

    1. Ensure that all of your world models spawn correctly. Onemanshow's 357 fix and MMod both rely on CzechDeath's 357 world model, which will always spawn on the ground when it is supposed to spawn on a crate or a table, and I once used an MP7 skin that spawned sideways in Combine weapon racks. I actually advise against changing the 357's world model, since mods like Human Error will rig the default world model to be wielded by NPCs.

    2. Continuously decompiling and recompiling an already compiled model is a great way to aberrate the animations. You can find old skins for HL2 for which the weapon lowering and raising animations appear to skip frames as a consequence of this.

    3. If the default phong is too shiny, you can always opt for removing the phong boost and increasing the fresnel ranges for materials that shouldn't intensely shine, which is what I did for the suits of Gman and Breen and the soldiers' uniforms in a pack that I'm creating. An alternative is to keep the default phong boost and to half the phong exponent until the shine is as evenly distributed as you like.

    3. I may be the only one who will ever request this, but I would love for more skinners to resurrect the old Source SDK so that they can compile their weapons with a legacy version of Studiomdl. For my aforementioned pack, I compiled tweaked versions of the retail weapon models with the version of Studiomdl that was created for the pre-Steampipe version of HL2 Episode 1. This guaranteed compatibility with the legacy mods that I salvaged without relying on third-party ports to Source 2013.

    Wow, this project is so big and cool.

    Glad to see that the revolver finally doesn't look like a gray chunk of something.
    The results are impressive and being able to choose certain things on the weapons makes it even better.

    By the way, the other day I was looking at your projects and saw the project in a new version of HL2 beta hmg1.
    Out of curiosity, is it really canceled or postponed?

    Good news is that I think I have an idea of how to fix the shotgun issue, either crowbar or blender is to blame but basically I need to align the mesh in HLMV by offsetting it in Blender. Figuring this out as I'm working on a weapon prop for a to be posted/announced weapon prop pack for Gmod that I'm currently doing.
