So far, this map's been a pure mind-blowing train wreck for me. I had many, many problems to sort out; Disappearing faces, disappearing entities, brushes that don't produce correct shadows, bullets and shots colliding with NON-EXISTENT objects, just to name a few.
I'm not, however, abandoning the map at any costs. I have many fond childhood memories with this one, and I'm not letting it go just like that.
For now, I've added models instead of relying on brushes and prefabs. Such was because the models are rather easy to work with, and I can tank up on detail without sacrificing the fps of the map with way too many brushes. The only problem that I'm having with them is that they're not generating any shadows. Not much of a problem anyways? they're barely noticeable for this trait though.
The lightning is one of the worst problems to face. While most of the lightning appears to be fine, some brushes (mostly those with one block wide space in between them) has these awkward rectangular sharp shadows poking out. (Nope, pressing them close to each other doesn't help). Just have to tweak this out and I'll be fine with it.
If I take action on all of the problems above tomorrow, the map will be ready for release soon.
A good map that I'm working on, which I have fond memories of creating in Delta Force: Black Hawk Down 7 years ago.
