As you can see, I am making an as_ map based on an office, I still need to do a large part (I am just at 50%), but I upload this WiP so that everyone can see it, and if you have any suggestions, criticisms or whatever, do not hesitate to do it :)
This looks really great. Although just a minor suggestion, try using the texture set Ritual made for Deleted Scenes. Those are really fantastic. Not only they're quite the upscale when compared to the original Half-Life, they also are quite detailed and beautifully made.
Also another thing, just as you used props instead of brushes for the monitors and the trees, can you do the same for the couches, chairs and tables? I bet it'll look fantastic that way. Not only that'll take less toll on the framerate, that'll also mean faster compile rates.
Happy to see that you improved your brushwork so quick.
Here are some suggestions:
Adding details in the offices such as file cabinets, libraries, air conditioners, ashtrays, trashcans, etc.
Making a rest space and adding stuff like couches, tea tables, magazines and stuff related to drinks and food.
That path seen in the first screenshots, I get what you've done but I suggest to simplify it.
I get that you want to put your name on your maps but I suggest to make that using hidden rooms, like that one in cs_office. This will improve the general look of your maps and your name will be more like an easter egg. You could make many hidden rooms with your name inside and also make like a prefab of it.
In the second screenshot I see that you could make paths between each complex. Also window and door frames.
Sincen you have improved your mapping already you can make another step and start to add some sound effects
Imagine the places that you create in your maps but in real life, working as they should, in this case this office that would have many people making office stuff. What would it look? That way you can get ideas.
Oh, I forgot to clarify: the blue background that is seen in the trees is because my computer shows it like this, I have tried it with another, (with that I will do the images and the final version) and with that it looks as it should
