adds additional scene after the transition from Launch Base Zone, based on the Sonic & Knuckles title screen

in Sonic 3 Complete, a new scene that plays after completing Launch Base Zone plays that depicts the Death Egg crashing into a mountain. this mod (attempts to) bring that same scene into Sonic 3 A.I.R.

as of right now, the scene itself functions correctly, but because of some technical differences in sonic 3 A.I.R., attempting to enter a special stage and standing on top of a super emerald kicks you back to the main menu, going back into the game should make it work correctly again, but id still like to fix this in some way, so if anyone has any clue of how to go about it, please do let me know.

the full transition now works properly, and special stages now function as intended. the only thing really missing at this point is the explosions on the death egg during the cutscene, and cleaning up the fadeout after the launch base boss fight to the cutscene itself.

this mod is relatively only lightly tested, so don't be afraid to report any bugs.

    For some reason when I enable this mod it just displays an infinite inescapable white screen that makes me have to open Task Manager or press the red 'X' to get out.

    EDIT: After looking through other's posts it may be due to my title card mod: Alter(nate) Graphics All-In-One; Hope this can help!

    EDIT 2 - Electric Boogaloo: It isn't that, possibly LBZ Eggman Fleeing Recreation?

    EDIT 3 & Knuckles: It is Eggman Fleeing, compatibility would be appreciated.

  • The explosions aren't that necessery in my opinion; the Death Egg should have stopped exploding by the time it reached Reef Mountain anyway, right?

    A shame that this never got finished but to be fair the only thing that was really missing was the explosions then again it not having the explosions makes it more accurate to the Sonic and Knuckles title screen

    I noticed that this animation is affected by the background blur effect in the display options.

    I'm messing about with this. Looks like the buzz on the way down is because it's trying to play a sound every frame. I'm adding a timer to it to see if I can get it sounding a little better.
