This is another personal project i wanted to make happen, tho im sure this one will see much easier success with the right assistance. I plan on making my own textures for this, or resorting to the Mecha Sonic idea (where i just selected everything i wanted to make blue/black/red/etc and do it like so.
im not doing classic Eggman simply because i dont care for it. if you really want it so badly, make a request for it and have someone else work on it. i have enough on my plate to deal with and i wanted to do Eggette for fun. if you arent happy about Eggette being done and not classic Eggman, tough.
i will also NOT be using the higher poly model of Eggette, mainly for the reason that there is too much detail to it. while it is possible to lower the polygon count, the mesh ends up getting too jagged and shriveled up, even with the smooth modifier applied! until there is a "better" model i can download that isnt too blocky but also not too details, this is the best i can work with for now.
The model seems a bit too low poly to fit in with the rest of the Smash Bros Wii U cast; you may want to revist the model and add some more polys to it. It's also clashing with the vehicle itself. The texure resolution need to be a higher resoluton than it currently is.
This is looking fantastic! I like the spikes over the forks and the spring poll over the tongue, I completely forgot about the tongue and you circumvented it easily, very creative. The like the little wings on the kart form too nice detail.
If I may, I have another few suggestions,
The metal parts on the arms that are used with the boxing gloves I think will look best gray. Aside from the elbow joints, I think that it ought to match the drill arms.
Your materials need a lot of work, which I think you probably already know. So far it all looks too bright and kind of mat (plain with no textures or gloss). I think all it really needs though is some hue adjustments (gloves are over saturated and tires are solid black( and a simple metal, like ganon armor (not to reflective).
The wheels, drills and whatever else are missing their normal maps. I can especially tell with the wheels because even with metal the wheels shouldn't look flat on the sides like that. Also glowing materials are the thing so you can light up that lamp!
Your 90% progress bar worries me, while this getting close to being "complete" it's far from perfect. I'd rather wait another month if I have to for a perfect mod rather then receive awkward updates later. (But maybe that's just me)
Last suggestion is add a disclaimer about Eggman in your description so that I don't have to read "why not Eggman?" anymore...
I think that the old glasses were better. If the glasses are what I think they are you should be able to get rid on the white outline in forge by changing the blend settings. As for the weapons, rather than recoloring, I think you should try model swapping most of them with weapons that Eggman has been known to use, especially the fork. I know that it's a lot more work but it's worth it.
The wrecking ball neeeds to be based on the first Eggman boss. Including the chain. I found a model here.
