It's been a long time since our last update, we've made a lot of changes we are now having to split it into two parts, this may change in the future but for now its in two parts. its still a developer build at the moment and we are still pretty far from making a full release.


The mod is too big for GB now and i'm going to start putting it on my server witch is: http://st3.zapto.org/tf2/TextureRedo/ if mods arent happy with this, please say.

Finally, im back. After a little hiatus from Gamebanna im back and already making mods. The purpose of this mod is to give TF2  a face lift, starting with texture quality and if you guys want there may be some new textures.
Note: i will release a update after 10 completed textures (not including normals ETC.)
any suggestions feel free to say. i'm new to re-texturing so i honestly hope this does not fail.

    If i can be honest here, i don't see much improvements in the textures.

    For example, you've literally just added some small white lines to the glasses. (How's that supposed to be a face lift for the textures?)



    For a suggestion, make the textures from like Real life taken window glass textures. Edit them to fit with the Tf2 style and do the same way with other textures for this pack.

    Since you released a development download of the mod I'm going to try to give you guys some constructive criticism. I looked through the vpk and compared the textures to the original and then tried the mod in game.

    1. That door texture you have as your screenshot at the moment is pretty ugly imo. It looks like you just put a few filters on it. I know that this may not be the case but that's really just what it looks like. This is normally fine depending on the filter but what you used seemed to make the texture look far worse when compared to the original.

    2. The new logo you have isn't transparent. I can't exactly blame you for not noticing when testing it because the default hud uses the Jungle logo but its pretty easy to switch back to the default logo with minimal hud editing knowledge. This is what it currently looks like.



    3. The new textures don't fit in at all. They stick out massively compared to the rest. This is a huge problem because even if you were to replace all the textures in the tf2 files to fit in with the new ones you would still run into this issue. Many maps pack their textures into the map file so you basically won't be able to edit them for the most part. Any new map that has new textures would also instantly clash with the textures you have.

    This isn't the only issue related to these new textures. They also don't fit correctly. The bricks look massive and so do the wood panels. Perhaps they'd fit it in more if they were sized correctly but its difficult to tell without seeing it properly.





    I'm not suggesting that you should stop working on this or that this mod is going to be terrible. I'm just trying to inform you of these issues so they could perhaps be improved upon. You released a development version of the mod without any real reason if I'm being totally honest with you because not much of the mod is really in a state of functionality yet.

    Wish you luck on this project 
    Just make sure it doesn't make things too busy and vibrant, I'm sure the art direction is designed for gameplay objects to stand out from the scenery, hence why most vanilla textures seem pale.
    I've played some games with very vibrant textures and it often causes nausea, which is strange due to how many 3D games I'm used to playing.
