I worked on that map a few months ago and then I found a job that didnt let me much time to spend on level design, so this is the progression of the map so far, but I dont think it'll ever go further than this, the map is quite good and I'm satisfied with many things, but wpoly so far is too high (around 1200 polygons at some spots!) and there's still a lot a bugs. I had a lot of fun building this but now I think it's time to say goodbye to this map and to mapping in CS. Hope you'll like it ! c ya
Here's a new map I'm working on for a few weeks. I dont if I'll be able to keep working for the following days so I'm showing you how is it going so far.
At the beggining, I decided to go for a winter themed map as you can see
in the screenshots, I used dod textures "zalec" and "jagd" as developpement
textures, then I used my custom ones and I figured out it was maybe too
complicated to achieve what I had in thought.
The environement is directly inspired by villages from a french region called "Alsace" (check out on google) it's a beautiful region with very inspiring architecture. I'm not very happy with the optimization so far so I gotta make things pretty simple. I wanted to make buildings little more complex but, hey, wpolys rules you know. Still, it's a WIP, so I hope I'll figure out how to make things more interesting. Enjoy the pics !
