  • With the project not being able to be pushed much more until mscsb editing, I've decided that it's time to put the finishing touches on it, and make the final release. Before i do that though, i would like to know if there is anything in terms of balance, hitboxes, graphics, etc. that i missed, or that you think should be changed.

I think it's finally finished, after a long time of not being motivated to do any kind of modding, i finished up what was started. I'm going to get better screenshots soon. Thank you all for the support

*Shine Weakened

*DThrow closer to Melee

UPDATES 1/17- Mostly Specials

With the discovery of what can be edited via the character params, Falco has been made. even closer to Melee.

*All Aerials now have appropriate amounts of Landing Lag
*All Aerials can be Edge Cancelled, It's not super useful due to the sticky ledge and the small window to do so, but it's there and has some uses.
*Lasers go Faster and Last Longer. The window for short hop autocancel laser was tightened.
*Side B can now be edge cancelled too, it's a little odd as it can be at anytime during side b, but it's very useful for follow ups.
*HitBoxes fixed on moves to make them better (mainly applies to Nair)
*Up B went from being bugged, to being near 1-1, the hitbox starts strong but gets weaker, and can only hit once.
*Up B Distance decreased drastically.


Still Need to do:

*Laser Tweeking
*Shine Momentum Problems
*Edge Snap

Again Let me know what I should do to make this better. Also, do you guys think i should make a WiP of what i have done for Marth so far or no? I ask as people making WiPs hasn't become as much to show off progress and more to claim a project, but I have some solid work done already, so let me know.

UPDATES: 12/25 - Merry Christmas
*Dash Attack has a more horizontal angle
*Up B has Hitboxes again, just really broken as i'm messing with making it so it won't rehit (It does 60% with the burn)
*Grounded lasers have less endlag to hopefully help with inability to make most aerial lasers autocancel
*Bair nerfed, kils from around center stage starting at around 130%

Things that need to Be Fixed/Changed:

*Up B (Duh!)
*Nair and SFX for Nair
*Ledge Snap for Up B

Fair is hard to land multiple hits, but the damage adds up if you do

Uair is a weaker form of Fox's with a hitbox that scoops opponents off of the ground

Fair is hard to land multiple hits, but the damage adds up if you do

Uair is a weaker form of Fox's with a hitbox that scoops opponents off of the ground

Dair is VERY similar to Melee and is the most finished move in my opinion

Bair can now hit the opponent to behind you, or in front of you

FSmash has just had the bones of the hitboxes changed as well as damage and knockback, slowed the animation down slightly in order to not make it look as jerky

Down Special (The Shine!) isn't the shine yet, but I'm trying to get the shine graphic to appear over Falco's body and be stationary.
THE SHINE IS (kind of) BACK!, Not identical as it can be interrupted by anything and has no invincibility to balance that.

Up B currently doesn't have a hitbox as i was trying to make it identical to the melee up b.

    This is great! Unfortunately it would suck to see this go, so for last measures, i would highly recommend you work on shine. His shine needs a lot of working and can be spammed too much and feels a little cheap. Other than that, you've done a great job with this!

    Shine is really OP. It would be good if it lasted for longer. You could also give it Falco's shield animation,  Also, grabs are the same as Sm4sh.

    Melee-Esque Falco only has some of Melee Falco's moves, but this mod has Most (or all, but I haven't tried the new update) of the moves. 

    so i tried this mod and i REALLY like it, even more than melee-esque falco. Here's what i think: i do use the melee hitstun mod and i did turn falco into a fast faller and so i think this makes falco really op with the melee mod. Taking the mods i have into mind, i think this falco should be tweeked a little. The lasers end lag should be reduced, as you're going to be punished hard (that's not what we want for a PM falco xD) and also up tilt needs some tweeking. Up tilt barely has knockback and can combo with shine and either back air or down air to make a 50-60% combo. It's a little broken, but it can be slightly fixed if you can increase the knockback on up tilt. Also, fix fire fox (or fire bird) and put back the hitbox and make t a multi-hit hitbox. Finally, i saw some comments regarding making his up B like fox's. Do you mean like the length? if so please don't. Falco's short recovery range is what makes falco: falco :) 


    How the heck did you make Falco a fastfaller? Teach me the ways please.
    It's actually quite simple xD i didn't want him to be identical to fox in terms of stats, but what you do is you go to sm4sh explorer, go to data(xx_xx), and go to param, then fighter, then open up "fighter_param.bin". Open up the group 1 tab, and look for the number 21. Those will be falco's stats. What i did to make him resemble fox was change the following:

    value 17: 50.50607---> 37
    value 18: 17.34---------> 17
    Value 19: 50.50607---> 39
    value 24: 0.13-----------> 0.19
    value 25: 1.8-------------> 2.05
    value 27: 2.88-----------> 3.28

    These values are not accurate at all to melee falco, but if someone knew the melee stats for falco, then i'm pretty sure he can change the values to make him more accurate. Personally, i feel as if sm4sh falco aerial mobility combined with all the melee mods for him make him too OP since his jumps are stupid and guarantee him spikes. As a fast faller with these values, it makes it so only back air is mostly guaranteed, like in melee.

    Hey, so i've done even MOAR testing on falco and here's an updated list of what you should fix:
    -Put back hitbox at the end of Up-B (it's annoying my friends lol)

    -Reduce end lag on lasers so it can be an approach tool like in melee/PM (increase the hitstun on the lasers SLIGHTLY as there is already a hitstun mod pack)

    -Fix up-tilt hitbox and give it more knockback so it doesn't combo into itself at low-mid percentages

    -Fix up throw. It does literally 30% or so off of one grab (plus you can get an up air or nack air after) decrease the knockback A LOT so it doesn't become a kill move and so it can combo (and please decrease the damage significantly)

    -Finally, PLEASE make falco not regrab ledge until some frames later (kind of like the melee-esque mods for fox, falco, and captain falcon) This would balance out falco with the rest of the cast and not make him AS intimidating to other. 

    If you can make these things happen, you will officially be the best modder on this website. I honestly love using falco because you made him fun again. But i understand this is a WiP, but if you can work on this before christmas, that would be awesome! :)

    Do you have another character in mind you were planning to do after you finish Falco?
    If there's going to be anyone after Falco, it's going to be Marth. I already have some moves done for him, but it's only his dair, and shield breaker. The animations were fixed to not have the sword issues like other ports for marth do.

    If there's going to be anyone after Falco, it's going to be Marth. I already have some moves done for him, but it's only his dair, and shield breaker. The animations were fixed to not have the sword issues like other ports for marth do.
