Solidworks in action(some test here)

Just decided to try a solidworks for modelling hard and very hard things. In this case i decided to take a nagant m1895 cylinder([some photos from internet here](https://imgur.com/a/lISyJ "")) as an example. This one has some small errors, that will be fixed later. Maybe i'll use this later. It turned fine i guess and i wanna to listen your opinion, can be SW used for creating high-poly models? 1st, 2nd renders - from 3ds max, 3-5th - shots from SW

    2 Thanez > You just hit quadify and it turned out good? In this case it doesn't really matter indeed, i did it just for wires preview. Quads looks nicer than trices :D > The red material looks like zbrush, so I thought you used the remesh tools to get it to smooth nicely. Max 2015 only. It has a "Clay" preset which is similar to zbrush =)

I definitely see a use for this on some harder to do parts like revolver cylinders and car parts with weird mesh flows, so thanks :)

    Hi, I'm a bit late to this party, but I am shameless about it :) You can absolutely use SW for highpoly work, and it can have it's own advantages, such as controlling edge thickness/type is much much easier, and you don't have to focus much on keeping your mesh clean. What workflow did you use to get it into MAX?

    2 Rafael De Jongh It this case you're right about edges(chamfers). Still test thought. I'm considering a lot of changes(fixes) for this one if it will get a continue. =)

    Looks pretty solid actually! The wireframe shown in the last image pretty much is a high poly model already, however some of the edges (mostly the chamfered edges) are just too hard/sharp for it to bake properly if you would make a low poly out of it.
