I understand the appeal of the "so long as it looks cool" approach, and I'm not condemning the animations just because of the charging handle pull, but the "looks cool" style can be immersion-breaking if done improperly, such as (in my opinion) the recoil and charging handle.
In the end these are just my opinions and suggestions to a work in progress. Rimuto can either heed them or ignore them, there's no need to get so defensive.

> I believe it's possible to release the bolt with the charging handle, but the way you have it on the animations, the player isn't pulling the latch on the left side of the charging handle, which means it won't go anywhere. Realistically the bolt release/catch lever would indeed be faster. The forward assist tap is all right, the early A1s were known to have a few issues with bolt closure. The recoil is a bit too wayward for an AR, as they tend to recoil straight back and not that heavily.
Yes you can release the bolt via pulling the charging handle. I have an AR-15 but I never do it as it causes extra unneeded moment and is not really the correct way to do it. An M16 recoils up and to the right, not just up. This is due to the barrels rifling. That latch is called the "bolt release" or some people call it a "ping pong paddle"

You would hit the bolt catch because of the bolt that was locked back from the last dry mag. This would ram the bolt forward. You can hit the forward assist but this does nothing unless you have a round in the chamber.

Recoil is really really exaggerated and you don't pull the charging handle after you reload then hit the forward assist. You would hit the bolt catch because of the bolt that was locked back from the last dry mag. This would ram the bolt forward. You can hit the forward assist but this does nothing unless you have a round in the chamber. Just giving ideas that all, not telling you to fix it. ^^
