APS UV Mapping

A Work In Progress for GameBanana

Progress Report

Completed
I didn't want to post any more WiPs for APS, but I've installed freeware plugin **Roadkill Pro** and wanted to show up how it looks like. The main feature of that Roadkill plugin is a very useful shader, which allows to see texture stretchings in real time just right on a model as a material. Very useful and helpful feature. Aside of this shader plugin contains some other commands, but they're common for most of unwrap plugins: different unwrap algorithms for geometry and organic, ratio checker and some others. Anyway, it's absolutely free plugin and easy to find by googling. I recommend it to Maya users, could save a lot of time.

I even thought maybe I got a corrupted Maya itself. By sayin' that Max export's doin' the same with smooth groups you just have relaxed me a lot, ufff :)

Well, both models I've released contains .OBJ versions, I mean there are .OBJ in release .zip archive. The same'll be with that new APS. So if someone will export maps with Texporter I would be real happy :) Although I have no idea how I could help in return :( Oh, and one more thing. Smooth groups are gettin' somehow corrupted during exportin' to OBJ from Maya. Some sort of a bug. I'm not sure what exactly happens, but seems to be the angles of vertex normals are not gettin' properly saved. So when anyone will open my "Maya-made" models in Max he will see unpleasant picture :) I would like to know what to do with that, but at the moment I don't know how to solve this shitty problem :(

    > **Posted by Sephiris** > Looks like a pretty cool program; it sure gave you a nice enough UV ;) Yeah, it's pretty cool. But also I'm pretty envy to 3D Max users for they can use Texporter plugin (as I've heard it's even integrated into latest Max versions). I've been lookin' through real lots of forums and resources and didn't find any analog for Maya. That' pretty sad, because those colourful UVs you guys makin' are sooo convenient... oh... Anyway, it's not an absolutely "one-click" plugin. You still have to select and cut edges. Well, after cuttin' it will unwrap model pretty nice, but this selectin' and cuttin', selectin' and cuttin'... maaan... you know what I mean :)
