Angkor Temple Map

**July 19, 2012**

**Slow but Moving...** New buildings are incorporated into the map, although there are still many details to add is taking shape. It now presents look a more on ruins. Soon to the walls in ruins, will be added trees roots, highly identified with the Royal Temple of Ta-Prohm.

**May 26, 2012**

**Rediscovering details** It has improved many technical details of construction. It began to "destroy" some part of buildings, for resemble to a ruins. It is beginning to add vegetation to the map. Applying of a thin fog effect, that will give a look more mystic to the place. Also now worked with a model tree with giant roots to resemble to real buildings of Ta-Prohm.

**He turns to resume the project!** A long pause after the project is back with all the energies. This special models are being built for this new map.

**Original Project**

This is a new map defuser/bomb type for Counter-Strike 1.6 inspired by the Ta-Prohm Temple (Rajavihara) of Angkor, Cambodia. Apply custom textures, models and buildings of hinduism style temple, to the architecture of S XII.

Hey Max, thanks for the nice words :) I can't ignore CS or GoldSrc, because this is where I started in 1998. Although I'm not designing for GoldSrc anymore, it will always have a special place in my level designer heart :) and will bring fond memories and nostalgia about my early days as level designer. I must also say that I respect and admire your hard work and persistence in GoldSrc knowing that, as you said, this engine is very limiting technically in today's graphics standards. This shows in this WIP and in previous maps (Cesky Krumlov comes to mind :) good job. I sent you a pm btw Will2k

    Given that this map is for CS 1.6 and the aging GoldSrc engine, the screenshots are looking impressive: the brushwork, textures, models are accurately conveying the image of an old temple in ruins. Good Job Max :) I have one issue though with lighting; the map lighting (light\_env) is dull yellow and does not match with the skybox sun/light (dark orange). It is your decision at the end to keep or change the lighting, but I thought I need to point it out in case you want to review the overall lighting in the map. I'll be waiting for the final release of this map, and in the meantime, keep up the good work Will2k

    True Logan, Mip force upload the map, and I have no intension to upload a beta, but when I finish the map, have publish the final version in the Maps section. Moreover, this work is paused, I'm working on another map that I can publish and upload images. I will not upload in Mip, but yes in WIP. Because I do not care upload the bsp(*) as it is incompleted and would be meaningless. When finished this new map, i return with the Angkor map project. No worry :D (*)I'm admin a big community of counter-strike. where I have the luck to always have people willing to testing my maps to find possible bugs that may show. For example on the map de_eternal had 10 to 12 players testing sought errors in different versions (about 3 or 4 betas) to correct and re-test in new version, when we find no error, the map was finally released.

    Hello Carma: By the time this project will be freezen, due to the amount of time and labor demanded. In a couple of months will continue with the construction of the map. Now I have emerged a more urgent project. It do not require much time. Then I will publish and explain in detail the new project with its progress (which will be faster than this). This does not mean that concluded the project Angkor Temple, only postpones it for a while. C.U
