Guide: Finding Oasis - A Tutorial for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

A walkthrough to the impossible Oasis quest finale.

Finding Oasis Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead. Please assess when finished! Finding Oasis is one of the more frustrating quests in the game - no STALKER will tell you how to get to it, where it is, and how to get into it when you find it. If you're having trouble getting to it, read on - be advised, spoilers present! You'll want to find the Yanov Ventilation Complex - it's one of the loading screen locations, a cylindrical tower. Move West, and you will find what appears to be a small building in a lot. Enter, dispatch the hamsters and zombies, and proceed into the vent shafts. You will eventually get to a room full of multiple rows of columns. A puzzle exists in this room - if you proceed directly to the other side of the room and pass through the hallway, it will port you back to the beginning. To break this spell, walk to the far left row and walk all the way to the back of the room. Allow the room to port you to the beginning, and repeat the process for each row, moving left to right. You will begin to notice 'curtains' of electricity falling from the iron beams above. Ignore these until you finish walking through each row. Once you complete the far right side, start the room over again. You now need to walk through each curtain in succession until you get to the other side of the room. Exit this room for the final time, and you should come out in Oasis. Your prize is a quest artifact!
The Heart of Oasis ∙ Healing +2 ∙ Nourishment +1 ∙ Energy Recovery +2 ∙ Wound Healing +2 ∙ Radiation -4

The oasis isn't worth returning. The benefits of never having to stock food or bandages again vastly outweigh that measly reward from the scientists.

Posted by nubblecakes Thank GOD someone posted a tutorial here. This shit had me confused for so long, but now I can finally get to it. Does the artifact actually do anything or is it like +2 rads only and do you just return it to the scientists? The coolest looking artifacts are always the most useless. D:
The artifact has many positive properties. List below:
    ∙ Healing +2 ∙ Food +1 (If you wear it, you don't have to eat. Ever.) ∙ Energy Recovery +2 ∙ Wound Healing +2 ∙ Radiation -4
You have the choice between passing it off to the scientists for 7000 (and I think some other perks, I think Novikov gets upgrade buffs for your outfit) or keeping it for yourself and reaping the benefits. It's a great artifact, and goes well with the Wind of Freedom suit. I will be posting regular guides for very difficult quests / accomplishments. If you have any suggestions, toss 'em my way!
Holy SHIIIIT. That's pretty damn good. I'll definitely be keeping it for myself. :D
