Tutorial for highest graphic settings

Step one

Go to your GTA4 folder and create a new TXT file called "commandline.txt"

Step two

Open that file and type in -nomemrestrict -norestrictions

Step three

Save the file and start GTA4 as usual. Now you can turn up your graphics even if you don't have enough RAM, lol.

In addition you can add -texturequality 2 -renderquality 4 so that the textures are on high and the renderquality too.

wow, i did that when the game came out, its in a million other forums, the patch made it a little better with more options, but i guess its cool to have it on here...

Since most of the people only know the "add a line to shortcut" version of this, which is not working in the newest 1.0.3 patch, this is a legid submission. lol.

didn't say it wasn't legit bro.

mine still works on the newer patch with no changes. i only had to do it once. i did 3 mods to my game files though... didnt realize people were still trying to overcome the games flaws. was PC's worst game of the year cause of that, but on platform it ranked as one of the best games...

i also had to buy a : AT1 4870*2 1gb ddr5 to play this game with full settings, that card flys in this game, uber realistic...

Yeah... this should work when running with Windows Live...

those commands added on the shortcut (LaunchGTAIV.exe) are also working, you just need to download Xliveless asi loader or anything relevant to Xliveless...

ofcourse... Xliveless... no Windows Live... just for GTA IV...

there's still graphical change running on a 512mb & below to 768mb & above cards... missing textures are present...

You can also add this command:

    –availablevidmem 768 (variables, your call)

you don't need to add -nomemrestrict or -norestrictions (ofcourse, you've got lot of rams detected by GTA IV)

    NOTE:
This should be working effectively on Vista systems... ofcourse... the DX10 feature of sharing ram...

    NICE POST THOUGH!
    heh... :D

    peace out...
    Always hit in the ass...

No, actually go look at the other/misc section of GTAIV and check the tutorials there. In fact, if you look at this current link, it's not working. FPSB/RPGB is weird like that, you can't directly link to the place, it's still a duplicate, different way doesn't mean adding different pictures. As I said, put a little more effort into this, seeing how there IS a tut there (which apparently can't be linked, but if you check the tutorials section for GTAIV, you will see it as the first tutorial). Some people can't run GTAIV at 100 percent because their drivers have issues with the game, give links to the updated drivers (aka website URLs to NVIDIA and ATI main website, which btw ATI's main website is AMD's).

    You really don't get it.
This is a different way to do it. You would have noticed it by reading both. This one is the working one with a commandline.txt, instead of a shortcurt or stuff.

    Your assessment is invalid.

Sorry, even though this is pretty useful, it's practically already been done http://www.rpgbanana.com/tuts/8372 . What you could do though to make it unique is adding graphics drivers websites for updating the drivers because most of the people (like may ATI card) get more FPS/fixes with updating drivers

If you would have checked the submission, you could 1) see, that it's done in a different way and 2) that the other tutorial is not working.
