Step 1: Creating an account.
To start a server, you will need an account. Those are very easy to create: First you must enter on "https://aternos.org/signup/". There you can choose a username (You cannot choose one that is already in use).
Next you will have to create a password and then repeat it. Or you can connect your Google account to have the same password as your account.
Step 2: Start creating the server.
Once we have logged in, it is time to start creating the server. To start, you just have to press the "+ Create a Server" button.
Now we can put a name and a description to our server or you can use the default ones. (NOTE: Make sure the Java Edition option is activated, otherwise the tutorial will not work!)
Step 3: Start configurating your server.
BEFORE OPENING OUR SERVER we must configure it. This part is a bit tricky, so I recommend reading the steps several times.
To start go to the left side of the screen, there should be a menu with different sections. Click on "Options".
The first thing we see is a small menu to change everything from Step 2, put an image to our server, purchease a custom domain and restart all the server files.
Below we have a larger menu with basic settings.
These are:
- Max Players - Changes the limit of players that can enter the server.
- Gamemode - Changes the default spawn gamemode.
- Difficulty - Changes the world difficulty.
- Whitelist - Toggle the verificated players list.
- Cracked - Toggle if non-premium users can join your server (Skins will be disabled).
- PvP - Toggle if users can battle.
- Command Blocks - Toggle if the command block can be used.
- Flight - Toggle if users can fly.
- Animals - Toggle if passive creatures can spawn around the world.
- Monsters - Toggle if agressive creatures can spawn around the world.
- NPCs - Toggle if villagers can spawn around the world.
- Nether - Toggle if Nether can be accessible.
- Force Gamemode - Toggle if a gamemode is obligatory.
- Spawn Protection - Change the invencibility time when user respawns.
- Require Resource Pack - Attach a resource/texture pack to your server.
- Resource Pack URL - Link for "Require Resource Pack" option.
- Timezone - Select the timezone from the server.
- Environment - Select Java version.
- OP Permission Level - Select the OP level from 1 to 4.
Now we must click on "Software". There we can choose what type of Minecraft to play (Vanilla, modded or with plugins)
