How to make sprites get affected by fog (Fog Only)
- A Tutorial for Baldi's Basics
Have you ever wondered how to make sprites become partially visible if you were to view them far away in fog? Well I'll briefly go through how to do it now! May I remind you that this only works with fog! Not color so sorry if you were looking for a shader that does both.
Step 1. As seen in the picture, right click on your assets folder and locate the Create, then hover over that and find shader and hover over that, then create any one of the following listed (It will not matter which one you choose because they will all do the same thing when you file them differently)
Step 2. Click the option you wish to choose to create, and then double click on it (It should open Visual Studio but if it doesn't It should prompt up a message asking what you would like to open the file with)
Step 3. As you can see you will need to code the shader, however I will save you some time! If there is anything in the file, erase it and then copy and paste this code into the shader (Only copy the code to line 91. or you will get errors) then save it of course.
Step 4. After you've saved the shader, make a new material sprite the same way you made the shader except you aren't gonna click shader, Like shown in the image you will need to configure the shader for the material you've created, so click the dropdown under the Material name (which is boxed), find the sprites section and then click "Default with Fog"
Step 5. You are almost done! here comes the fun part!!! Configuring each sprite in your scene to use that material! You can do it fast if you selected a lot of sprites and then dragged in the material to their renderers.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. This should make your mods better if it ever has a fog event and such, I hope this helps anyone who wanted to know how to do it (if I can figure out how to make the shader effect sprites with both fog and color of lighting I will update this)
Nice tutorial but for me, I use the material instead. It doesn't make the sprite disappear when you play it though because of the billboard script if you have the material on the right setting however because mine one like affects on all the environments around it including fog and lightning. It only just make the sprite cannot be seen from the back view but you can still see it from the front view.
