Files Needed: crit.tga

Programs Needed: VTFEdit133 - Paint.NET

Hello there everyone! Today I'll be showing you how to make your very own Crit Icons. I've even provided a link to a video I made to help make it easier for people to follow in case text tutorials aren't their thing.

EDIT: This also works with Mini-Crits and Double Donks
For the mini-crits name it minicrit.vtf and for double donk name it doubledonk.vtf

STEP 1: Open Paint.NET and open crit.tga inside of Paint.NET

STEP 2: Add whatever the hell you want into the tiny box for your new crit icon

STEP 3: "Save" it. No need to do "Save as" since the blanket template I provided works as is, and has the correct file name

STEP 4: Open VTFEdit and click on "IMPORT" and select the crit.tga file you just made. Ignore the box, just click on "OK" without changing any settings

STEP 5: Click "file" then "save as" and save it as "crit.vtf"

STEP 6: Drop your "crit.vtf" file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\crit\materials\effects -- If you don't have the custom folder, crit, matieral, and effects in your tf folder just make them yourself

STEP 7: Launch TF2, and test your new crit icon on a training server or whatever server of your choice
