- Dolphin Emulator (Development Build)
- A copy of Kirby's Return to Dream Land on your computer
Now, let's get started!
Dumping the Game
Before you start modding, you'll need a dump of your game. To start, right-click the game in Dolphin, and select "Properties".
Next, click the "Filesystem" tab, and right-click "Disc" in the file tree. Then, select "Extract Entire Disc...".
Select the folder where you would like to store the game dump. I would recommend placing it where Dolphin can find the folder so you can load the modded files, and making a copy of it for later use.
After that, you're done! Now you can simply find mods around this site, download them, and place them in their respective folders in the dump that Dolphin recognizes.
Running the Game with Mods
Once you've dumped the game, reload Dolphin's game list. If you put the dump where Dolphin can read it, you should find a copy of Kirby's Return to Dream Land in the menu with the file called "main.dol".
This copy is the dump, and can be run as you would run a normal game.
If this copy of the game does not appear in Dolphin's game list, click "Config" at the top of the window, then the "Paths" tab. Make sure "Search Subfolders" is checked.
NOTE: What you see here is not exactly everything you will see on your installation of Dolphin. I customized my own to use my own personal paths.
After that, simply click "Close" and reload the game list.
If you've modified the playable dump, the game will load with the modded files.
That's about it! Have fun modding Kirby's Return to Dream Land!
