Hi, I'm Nate, and today I'll teach thee how to make a proper CTF map (as in entities, not the map itself)

1. Open up Hammer

As you can see in the second screenshot, I already have my map ready, with some info_player_teamspawns and a light

2. Now, add an item_tfgoal wherever you want the flag to be

3. Change these properties:

-Item #: (Whatever number you want. This one is essential)
-Model path/name.mdlmodels/flag.mdl
-Model skin-varies per models: (1 if red, 2 if blue)
-Team allowed to use goal (If not using teamcheck): (The team that will be able to grab the flag)
-Targetname of teamcheck goal (If using teamcheck): (The name of the team that will be able to grab the flag)
-Pause (stays on ground) seconds: (How many seconds you want it to be on the ground before returning to its original spot)
-Goal Activation bitfields4789
-Goal Result bitfields16 - Prevent Spy disguise

You can also change these if you want:

-Owned by-for msg & item glow: (The team that owns the flag)
-Message to all
-Message to AP ("AP" means "Activating Player")
-Message to AP team
-Message to non-AP team
-Message to owner team
-Message to non-owner team
-Percentage of full speed: (Self-explanatory)
-Center msg, death drop, owner team
-Center msg, death drop, non-owner team
-Highlight HUD items bitvalue: (Which team's icon you want to appear on the screen when you're carrying the flag)

4. Duplicate/copypaste the entity and put into the other team's flag spot

5. Now, create a block with the Block Tool and make it the same width and length as the capture point (or duplicate the capture point and put it above itself), but this time, make it an entity and an i_t_g and change these properties:

-Team allowed to use goal (If not using teamcheck): (Which team this capture point belongs to)
-Targetname of teamcheck goal (If using teamcheck): (The name of the team this capture point belongs to)
-Has item #: (This one is essential too. Here goes the number you gave to the other team's flag)
-Remove item from APA: (Same as Has item #)
-Return item #: (Same as the previous two)
-Blue point gain (If team is blue): (Whatever amount of points you want blue to get)
-Red point gain (If team is red): (Whatever amount of points you want red to get)
-Goal activation bitfields1 - player touch

The following are optional:

-Owned by-for msg & item glow: (The team that owns the capture point)
-Message to all
-Message to AP
-Message to AP team
-Message to non-AP team
-Message to owner team
-Message to non-owner team
-Add/Subtract health: 100 (if you want to refill your health)
-Armor Value %: 300 (if you want to restore your armor)

6. Done!
