EU Differences in File Locations

A Tutorial for Super Smash Bros. (Wii U)

Felt like putting out some of the differences between US & EU that require EU players to put files in different location, feedback appreciated, if you know any extra just comment and I'll add it.

Files that go in data(xx_xx) instead.

  • All Stage UI
  • Nameplates
  • DLC UI
  • Most Parameter Files (melee.msbt / ui_char_db.bin for ex.)
  • Some Lumen files. (Some lumen things exist only in the localised data or only the default data)
Confirmed Specific Things that go in data(xx_xx)/Local Data.
  • info/com_loading00                                                                                               [Note replace/system/com_loading_mask is in norm data]
  • info/dmg (I'm beginning to think all info is local)
  • lumen/melee

I'll just leave it at this for now and add stuff as I remember.

If nameplates are supposed to go in xx_xx like I thuoght, I don't understand why i get crashes on the css by them lol.
    data(xx_xx) / ui/ replace/ chrn_11, then make changes to ui_char_db.bin for the nameplate :p?

melee.msbt files and the like have to go in data AND data(xx_xx) !!

Took me a while to find that one out.
That's not true, those files only need to go in data(eu_xx), there's no need to put them in data

If you don't believe me, try it yourself, just remove the modded melee.msbt that you have in data and it will work just fine
What if you're using a language that the game doesn't support? I would assume that the contents inside the "data" folder would be used in that case.

For the NTSC-U region, if your language is set to English, then the "data" folder would be used for the ui contents, since the ui folder does not exist in data(us_en).

Also other UI like the title screen images, backgrounds, cursors, "321GO!", "TIME'S UP!", etc. in the EU version goes in data(eu_xx).
Lumen, then. Only think some of that has to go in xx_xx, not all of it.

    Lumen and Info files.

"321GO!" and "TIME'S UP" both go in data(eu_xx)/ui/info

Shit, could be, yeah. I just did it because I wanted to be on the safe side.

Still, one more on the list.
