How to add this effect (a thunderstorm in our maps)

Hello, Introduction! ============= I'm not sure, but I think that this tutorial is for Intermediate level. In the begginers level you learn the basic things in valve harmer. What's a thunderstorm (for the people which don't know)! ====================================================== That's a thunderstorm ![aaaa](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a4/Cloud_to_ground_lightning_strikes_south-west_of_Wagga_Wagga.jpg "ga") Before you start reading this tutorial you must be acquainted **with this entities**! **env_beam** http://twhl.info/wiki.php?id=10 **trigger_multiple** http://twhl.info/wiki.php?id=139 ambient_generic http://twhl.info/wiki.php?id=122 **light_environment ** http://twhl.info/wiki.php?id=146 **light** http://twhl.info/wiki.php?id=148 **path_corner** http://twhl.info/wiki.php?id=154 **multi_manager** http://twhl.info/wiki.php?id=151 Essential ========= **In this tutorial, I won't explain this entities for what are they, I only will explain the things which are on the topic! Also, I won't make one cool map! In this tutorial I'll explain how to make a thunderstorm!** STEP 1 ======== Make one box with four walls, ground and ceiling. Something like this, ![aga](http://prikachi.com/images/314/7787314B.jpg "aha"). STEP 2 ====== Add env_beam with using entity tool! Now click on the entity, then click right button and click on properties. Add name Name: Low1 (Important this name will be used for a thunderstorm, also don't forget it, add simple or whatever name, but remember it!). STEP 3 ======== Create two path_corners the first one will be used for the starting of the thunderstorm, the second will be the end of the a thunderstorm. The end of the a thunderstorm the path_corner, must be something like this, ![aga](http://prikachi.com/images/326/7787326g.jpg "hajwe "). Also named this path_corners with a names simple or whatever this two remember too, let's say the name will be fanitronikend also add to the name of the pathcorner at the end this "end". The start of the thunderstorm put it up, where is the ceiling there put path_corner, something like this must be putted the path_corner, ![ah21](http://prikachi.com/images/337/7787337z.jpg "ah1521"). Also, named the entity something like this fanitronikstart or whatever, but remember it at the end of the name you must add "start". Essential ========= **Maybe some people, will put double times one thing important, put "end" or "start", if you don't have this in your name at the end. Let's say that the name is fan at the end add "end" or "start" and will be now fanend or fanstart!** STEP 4 ======== Up to here you must have two path_corners, one env_beam, four walls, ground and ceiling something like this your map must look like, ![aha1a](http://prikachi.com/images/343/7787343A.jpg "21a"). Essential ========= If you have more paths or envs, read again or delete them. YOur map must look something like in the picture. STEP 5 ======== Now go to env_beam properties, add this things in the settings Start entity: The name of the second path corner in my case is "fanitronikstart". Now you go on Ending entity: here add the name of the first pathcorner in my case is "fanitronikend". Go on brightness and make it 255. Go on beam colour, maybe the colour will be something like this 157 157 157 or if you don't like it, make it how you want, if you want, make it more realistic! Radious : DOn't touch it, nothing change there in radious must be 256! Go now on Life make it: 0, Go now on Width Of beam make it: 16, Go now on Amouth of noise make it: 184, GO now on Sprite name: there must the sprites/laserbeam.spr, Others things to fix or to add in env_beam there aren't any. STEP 6 ======== Add light and light enviroment by using entity tools! Light - Name: onebyeone (Named it and remeber the name), Brightness: 14 200 209 200 (Must be this don't chaged). Light_enviroment - Name: onebytwo (Name it and remeber the name), Brightness: 190 190 190 200 (Put this in brightness). STEP 7 ======== Add a sound by using ambient_generic! add this sound port_suckin1.wav if you don't have it download it from the internet and put it in cstrike/sound/ambience. Also, don't forget to add a name of the sound! Name: A thunderstorm (If you want make it other name, but rember it). Path/filename .wav: add the sound (port_suckin1.wav), if you haven't upload it. Volume : 10 Nothing else, change in the settings, now go on flags of the entity! ![1a1aga](http://prikachi.com/images/389/7787389K.jpg "1gdsaa"), Check this flags: Play Everywhere Start Silent And Not Toggled STEP 8 ======== Delete the ceiling, then make a skybox with 32 hollows! Your map up to here will look something like this, ![aga1a](http://prikachi.com/images/397/7787397h.jpg "1a"), IF your test map don't look like in the picture read again the tutorial! **Essential!** In this tutorial I'll you show how to make one thunderstorm for many thunderstorms is the same with little difference, If somebody have question how to make more than one thunderstorm to ask me in pm or here! STEP 9 ======== Make one box small than your house let's say, make it with texture > aaatrigger Now click on the small box, right button of the mouse, then Tie to entity and find this trigger_multiple, then go to Name add a name whatever just for identify! Master skip it, in this tutorial we won't use this setting! Delay before trigger, make it 3 or 5 whatever! Now go on delay before reset: if choose in delay before trigger 5 here make it 6 or 7 or whatever! STEP 10 ========= Make a multimanager by using entity tool, put it where you want, but not outside the sky, because you will have leak more info for the leak read this, http://cs.gamebanana.com/tuts/11727! Go to the properties of multi manager Named for identify (You don't need to remember the name! Just add one name of identify). STEP 11 ========= Now turn off the smartedit, CLick on the button add and add there this Low1 (In my case is Low1 that's the name of the beam). Add down for value: 3 click again on the add button And add Low1#1 3.5 Why we add Low1 and Low1#1? =========================== **THe first one is when will start (Low1), the second Low1#1w is for when will end!** Now, add the name of the light, click on add then add the name and the value! **In my case is onebyeone** **In value add this 3** then click OK (FOR SAVE), again do this, and add it again with the same name onebytwo, but adding at the end #1 with value 3.5, then click OK (FOR SAVE). Now add the name of the light_enviroment click on the button add then add the name and value _In my case is: onebytwo_ _In value add this 3_ and click Ok, then press again the button add and add this name onebytwo this name is my case and with value 3.5, then click OK (FOR SAVE)! Now click again on add button and add the name of the sound in my case is a Thunderstorm add it like Key : Thunderstorm Value : 3 then click OK (FOR SAVE). and again with Key : Thunderstorm#1 Value : 3.5 then click OK (FOR SAVE). That's all folks Some example of maps you can get from me, if somebody wants to write me in Pm I will send him one rmf file of map with one thunderstorm and one map with muliple thunderstorms with more than one! Make no mistake, your English is pretty bad, but it's better than before, reaching understandable levels. I'm not your English teacher, you're still responsible for your own actions and your own content; though it's true I will occasionally help a poor sod fix his broken English tutorial, I only do this once per person, which that person should use as proper learning material on what he did wrong and where he can improve. We're not obligated to keep track of your English progression, you have teachers at school doing that, who are getting paid to deal with your shit. You're on your bloody own.

I don't do it I just show the mistakes, some people don't see them and do the mistakes again and again and again like you you have add the dust2 door not like in d2 map you have add the texture whatever it's hard to explain! ALso what to fix??? Devieus has show every mistake here I'm sure what to fix more??? That I make mistakes when I write fast that's other problem! Also for your maps I look your all maps and I can say that some maps are with bad texture, but you say that you start mapping for fun! SOme maps have a lot of mistakes and others things!

Nope, not necessarily be withheld. Poor english is when english is almost invisible or something like that. 'pooor' is not even a word, maybe you're expressing but that's hilarious. This is understandable but it just hurts to see how some words are written. Maybe it's just me.

    If your english was better, this would be an amazing tutorial. I might try this, but another way to do this is creating an env\_laser and using trigger\_multiple, but that doesn't work like this do. Also, I think "lightning storm" sounds better.
