In tutorial I will use map de_vangogh for picture example.
Note : You must run game at 1024x768 resolution.
[Launch Counter-Strike.](http://i.imgur.com/p0MEHfR.png "")
Open Console with the key "~ or `" !(http://i.imgur.com/2pTHv9O.png "")
[Type in console](http://i.imgur.com/L7VKQJc.png "")
[Launch map by typing in console (I am using de_vangogh)](http://i.imgur.com/vGpy4fh.png "")
[When map load type in console](http://i.imgur.com/KeEwQIV.png "")
instantly the map overview will show up (Adjust the view accordingly with the help of keys w,s,a,d and right&left click)
Should look like this:
Take a screenshot with the key F5.
(The screenshot taken can be found at folder "steam/steamapps/common/half-life/cstrike")
Type in console
that will display overview information of your map in console
Should look like this:
Create a text file with information and name it same like your map name
Should look like this:
Note : You can use default overview .txt file of any default map and just replace the necessary digits of your map/rename the .txt file.
Optimizing the Screenshot you took in step 6 with the help of IrfanView
Download & Install [IrfanView](http://www.irfanview.com/ "")
[Go to File - > Batch Conversion/Rename](http://i.imgur.com/vt0Io0Z.png "")
[Set Work as: Batch Conversion , Select a directory for output result file](http://i.imgur.com/fCDVFCr.png "")
[Go to Advanced (Click me)](http://i.imgur.com/XjYyCFW.png "")
[Locate the screenshot you took in step 6 , Select it and Click add](http://i.imgur.com/rUWu4mj.png "")
[Start Batch](http://i.imgur.com/2lqy1Ec.png "")
Note : Only Follow the below steps if the green color in the converted image does not show RGB (0 , 255 , 0) else skip to final step
Go to the output directory
Note : Sometimes During Batch Conversion the Green Color in the overview RGB (0 , 255 , 0) Changes to RGB (1 , 255 , 1) or (4 , 255 , 4) its totally random
Note : It is necessary to replace the RGB (1 , 255 , 1) with RGB (0 , 255 , 0) otherwise the green color will be visible in the overview
[Now open the Converted Image in IrfanView the RGB (1 , 255 , 1)](http://i.imgur.com/KSvcACT.png "")
We are going to replace RGB (1 , 255 , 1) with RGB (0 ,255 ,0) for that
[Go to Image - > Replace Color ...](http://i.imgur.com/btAMYky.png "")
The replace color dialog box pops up .
Replace source color:
[Just Click on the green color part of the overview.](http://i.imgur.com/8I6p9Jd.png "")
There is some problem in IrfanView the RGB code doesn't get updated when you click on the green color (source) for that
[click on choose](http://i.imgur.com/TKUz5If.png "") and
With new color:
[Select the color RGB (0 , 255 , 0) and click ok ](http://i.imgur.com/rcJ2kpj.png "")
[Click on the green color to check if the color is replaced ](http://i.imgur.com/CYrqVpF.png "")
Go to File - > Save (original folder) and save as name: mapname ([I have used de_vangogh](http://i.imgur.com/YQKnd7P.png ""))
Copy/Cut the mapname.bmp and mapname.txt and paste in cstrike/overviews !

oh please post your awesome and outstanding explanation here
so others can see and tell me if i missed anything ! or make me understand your concept which is out of the world !
let me tell what you are telling !
you are saying that zoom in the parts of map and take pics of small , small parts and then combine them with photoshop etc...
each small image you take will be like 1024x768 (Dimension) and when you will join them it will be a very big image ! you will re-size the whole to 1024x768 and what are you going to get is the same .bmp in the example above or maybe more poor quality!
also you need the zoom , origin , z maximum , rotated etc.. information which you can never get if you use that method !
please correct me if i am wrong !
Fak it, I don't know how I missed the images. This is really dumb behavior on my part.
So yeah, this tut still gets an 8 because there are more intermediate steps in making an overview.
I'm not going to explain myself any further. I tried explaining in your profile and you did not get the point. ._.
