Ads keep us online. Without them, we wouldn't exist. We don't have
paywalls or sell mods - we never will. But every month we have large bills
and running ads is our only way to cover them. Please consider unblocking us. Thank you from GameBanana <3
You can set up an image MOTD (the picture that shows before connecting to a server) using one of the following methods:
- Writing the text directly to the picture, uploading it on a file hosting server and inserting the URL into one piece of html code.
- Inserting the text into the html code.
First of all, you need a picture with the following size:
- Widith: 766
- Height: 383
If you already have one with a different size, resize if. Otherwise, find or create your own image with the mentioned size (in this tutorial, I will not explain you how to make an image). Save the image in one of the following formats: .gif, .jpg, .png or .bmp. NOTE: I recommended you to use .jpg format.
After you have done that, upload your picture to the web. For example, use Imageshack, Sleekupload, Tinypic or any other image file hosting. Now, after uploading you'll need a direct link to the image. In the section of "My Images", click on "Share" buttom of your image and get the direct link.
Open your cstrike folder and find motd.txt file. Open it with a Text Editor (e.g Notepad 2) and delete everything you see there. Now, copy and paste all the text from here and save the file. If you get an error, then save the motd.txt file on your Desktop and replace it with the original (the one from your cstrike folder). **NOTE: Always back-up your original motd.txt file somwhere on your PC or on the web.**
This is it guys. Thanks for reading and enjoy your own MOTD in Counter-Strike.
