Changing weapon textures

A Tutorial for Counter-Strike 1.6

This tutorial is for BEGINNERS, yes BEGINNERS and for those who don't know how to change the extra textures between weapons if the extra texture is provided.
This tutorial can also be use to change the hand textures from the hand section.
They are both basically use the same method.

Ok so here we go:

To change the textures between weapons or hands, you'll need Jed's half life model viewer.

It can be found here:

Then download it. Once finished, extract the file and save it to your desktop.

We will use this Battle Royal 2 Famas 3 as an example.
Download Battle Royal 2 Famas 3, use WinRAR to extract it, right click and press extract here, and put the file in your desktop. And then go the br2famas3_on_valve_animations folder (this is default name, if you change the name, the go to the folder you named).
Once inside the folder, find the file v_famas, p_famas, w_famas.

For now we'll just use the v_famas. Right click v_famas, click open with, then browse, and click on Jed's Half-Life Model Viewer or JHLMV. Once the FAMAS is open, click on the texture tab, and then go to the main_carry.bmp. Then click import texture.

Step 3
Browse to the br2famas3_on_valve_animations folder again, open it and find the folder Alternative Textures (for other skins, the folder name might be different). There you will see 3 picture files. Remember, you want to change the main_carry.bmp so click the main_carry.bmp file.

Then voila! your texture is changed.

Step 4
For the norm_map.bmp and the map2_map.bmp, use step 2 and step 3.

Step 5
Once you're done with the other 2 texture, Click FILE, then click SAVE MODEL AS and then save the name as v_famas (this depends on what your original skin is named example: v_m4a1, v_sg550 etc...)

Step 6
Use step 2, 3, 4 and 5 to change the texture of the p_famas and the w_famas model.

For hand textures and other skins that provide optional textures, it uses the same method.
