How to create overview for CS 1.6 map

A Tutorial for Counter-Strike 1.6

Steps to creation overview

In tutorial I will use a map fy_snow for picture example. Follow next steps: ================== 1. ================== You must run game at 1024x768 resolution 2. ================== Start game and type in console sv_cheats 1 3. ================== Type in console map yourmapname 4. ================== When map load type in console dev_overview 2 instantly the map overview will show up Should look like this: 5. ================== Take a screenshot and save it in 8bit BMP or 24bit TGA picture format 6. ================== Type in console dev_overview 1 that will display in console overview description informations for your map Should look like this: 7. ================== Create a text file with description information's and name it same like your map name Should look like this: 8. ================== Save files in your cstrike/overviews folder Note: ------------------ You can use default file form some map and just replace the necessary digits of you map.

    Something's wrong with this tutorial.

    The Z Origin and the Height will be the Z Max. If you are using Photoshop, convert the image into Indexed Mode, then save as .bmp (8 bits/pixel).

    This applies on Day of Defeat, Half-Life, and Condition Zero maps.

    I have tested and it works.

    I just have make an overview for css_dust2_go and css_train_go.
