Hi! Today i will teach you how to change that "old-timey" menu music to a song of your choice! ========================================================== Okay, this obviously is not working for some people, so i'm really sorry. This is my first tutorial, and i'm not really that skilled with this kind of thing. If you want me to take it down, say so. ========================================================== 1.You will need a song. It does **_NOT_** matter what song you choose, as long as there is an MP3 of it. **Q**. I found the MP3 for my song, what now? 2.You just download it. If you are using Google Chrome, go to any folder, press the "Folders" button at the top, click the [+] button next to My Documents, then click "Downloads", then look for your MP3. 3.Double-click your MP3 to listen to it. If you want to use it, drag it to C\Program files\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\my\_music\sound\ui, make the folders if they don't exist. 4.Listen to everything under this folder, and choose which song you want to replace. Delete the old song, and name your new song EXACTLY the same as the old one. ========================================================== Now you should hear the song you chose instead of that old one. Sorry if it doesn't work.

**But all of my TF2 files are in the common folder, and it doesn't have the ui folders. What do I do about that?**

This used to work I know that for sure but I think since steam cloud was implimented any files you place in the folder named the same as the old ones get overwritten as soon as you launch TF2.
However you can ADD new ones to the "playlist" by naming them "gamestartup20" and so on, you'll hear them a lot less than you would if you replaced them entirely but it does work, I forgot all about even being able to do this until one of mine played yesterday lol.

In truth this kinda does and doesn't work since value made a patch that renames the files back to the original tf2 music, you need to like rename everything and have like several different copys of the music till it works.

I've tried this before trying to replace all of the soundfiles. All but one of them were changed back to the regular songs. There wasn't anything in it which would make a difference, so I don't know what happened. So this tutorial is partially right.

one thing to add: It also works for new songs (say you like all the old songs but you want a new one) just call it gamestartup# where # is the next number up from the LAST gamestartup#.

    e.g. LAST gamestartup = gamestartup9
    NEW gamestartup = gamestartup10

    and so on.
