When I play CSCZ or CS 1.6, the mouse sometimes just sticks there. The game is not lagging. Only the mouse. Does anyone get this problem? It's so hard to shoot when the mouse just stays there.
The mouse works perfectly in CS Source.
I get that problem too. I have a corded optical mouse so It really shouldn't have any problems with it seeing as I play every other game (including CSS) with it and it has never done it with me. Does it normally stick on aim_ak_m4 maps or other maps of the same style? Because I found that it did that most of the time when I played on those maps and it seemed to disappear when I went to other maps.
:-\ Well, I'm not sure... when I have this problem it's always on those aim_ and fy_ maps so...
I haven't played 1.6 or CZ for a few months though so i'm not sure if the problem still persists on those maps or what.
I'm not saying you should go totally with Razer, I'm just saying that it's good for optical mice. It doesn't have a glossy texture, so the optical mouse can track it. I think it's his game though, because in CS:S he can play without problems, but in CZ he has problems.
Generally, you get 'Mouse Lag' when your CPU load shoots up, or when you don't have enough free RAM space available at the time, it also happens when your FPS ( frames per second ) decreases dramatically.
Find out which one of those is causing it, find out what's causing the changes, destroy it. Play your games.
But what seems really odd to have been happening to me at least, seeing as I have a video card that plays HL2 in full settings and 2gb of RAM. So I doubt CZ should have been of any problem to me and yet it was...
There is an unnecessary process that runs if you have an ati graphics card called "ati2mdxx.exe" or something similar, which can cause mouse and keyboard lag in the old source engine games (1.6, cz hl). Simply go to task manager, find it in the processes list and disable it. Don't worry, it isn't necessary as said before, so it wont prevent anything from working.
Yes, go to start>run and then type "msconfig" (without quotes) and click OK. Next, go to the startup tab and find the process "ati2mdxx.exe" (or whatever it was called) and then make sure the box next to it is unchecked. Finally click OK. You will be prompted to restart your computer but you don't have to. Also next time you turn on your computer a notice will come up about the system config utility; simply uncheck the box that says "start system config utility on startup" then click ok.
No problem. Post whether it works or not. It worked for me and makes a huge difference; before I disabled it, I would often run off the roof on assault accidentally because when I let go of the movement keys I would carry on running because of the keyboard lag!
I used to get theat problem A lot . its simply solved though . go ctrl+alt+delte (task manager) , right click hl.exe , then go down to priority , and set it to LOW . its 100% solution , perfectly works and never stops your mouse anymore
Well i had the same problem , when ever i pressed ctrl or shift in HL games. i would lag and ONLY PRESSING THOSE KEYS
so i set the priority to low and it worked , yet i laggged!!!! in multiplayer servers.
Help! plz, i dont have admin so i cant disable ati2exx or w.e
