I've upgraded to a new motherboard and bought a new X1950 Pro (256MB) which are supposed to have native crossfire. I installed the system no problem, both cards run and both bridges are installed. When I turn on Crossfire in the driver, running games doesn't work - they go all corrupt and stuff. I tried installing older drivers but they just told me a crossfire connection couldn't be detected. Hardware is: Sapphire X1950 Pro 256MB (x2), they are slightly different in design but they are the same card; and a P35-DS3P from Gigabyte with CrossFire support. Help please! :)

What do you mean they are slightly different in design? Can you post specs of both cards?

They are the same spec, same core etc, but the new one is sort of a "revision" in look and stuff, but it's the same card.

You need a regular one and then a crossfire edition to run crossfire.

Not with the 256Mb "Internal bridge" ones.

With the release of the Radeon X1950 Pro (RV570 GPU), ATI has revised CrossFire's connection infrastructure to further eliminate the need for past Y-dongle/Master card and slave card configurations for CrossFire to operate. ATI's CrossFire connector is now a ribbon like connector attached to the top of each graphics adapter, similar to nVidia's SLi bridges, but different in physical and logical natures.[2]
