Lighting Environment

Hey guys im making my next map, it a night map, i have a night sky but all my brushes are lit up bright as if its not dark at all if you get me. Dark night sky and buildings as if it is day time (quite bright). How do i make the environmetn match the sky? ( i can't help but feel a bit noobish asking this question lol)

    Put these numbers in the light_environment: Pitch Yaw Roll (XYZ): 0 12 0 Pitch: -45 Brightness: 175 230 239 50 Ambient: 27 28 35 5

    Ah excellent nice one gus i found a sky name page but it aint as good as that one thanks lol What do all those numbers mean ricochet? Thanks man i will input those now :)

    Well all you had to do is make the skybox, hollow out the box, make the light environment and double clicked it and entered these values: Pitch Yaw Roll (XYZ): 0 12 0 Pitch: -45 Brightness: 175 230 239 50 Ambient: 27 28 35 5 They should work..

    More like the vmt is trying to use a shader/variable that currently is disabled or doesn't exist, try using a different texture.

    No Shroomish. That error is an HDR skybox thingy that comes up for every map nowadays. It can be ignored and fixed with cubemaps later on and shouldn't cause any trouble. Are you running a full compile? There are no signs of VRAD or VVIS in that log... Wait... Did you type in the very first line of that log by yourself or was it in your log? I haven't seen that one before. (and neither has the Interlopers error page. :S ). Might mean that you have a whole buttload of findportalside errors...

    No i just copied it from the run log, you know the little option box that pops up before you compile where you can choose to compile BSP files, RAD and VIS? well i have it set to this; BSP - Normal VIS - No RAD - No Will that have some sort of affect on what is happening? I would post my entire compile log but its too big :/

    Compile the map with all three set to normal and if the problem is still there when you test the map post the compile log in pieces.
