About having a new version of Sonic 3 Complete - A Forum Thread for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles.

So, I've been thinking of an idea that has been scratching over my head and I haven't been able to fully give it to the public for some time; Sonic 3 Complete Revival.

A renewed version of the kind of outdated Hack ROM called Sonic 3 Complete, made by Tiddles and team (which last version was made as of 2013)

¿Why is it outdated?

-Sonic 3 Angel Island Revisited and the Retro Engine Sonic Origins version of the game have made all-new changes, coped with the new prototype discoveries made by Hidden Palace in 2019 (which fueled the proposit of the tracks of the zones Carnival Night, Ice Cap and Launch Base Zone's that were used in the Sonic & Knuckles Collection PC Port & the newer Sonic Origins version) that weren't realized at the times Sonic 3 Complete was developed (even though the prototype tracks where actually composed new YM2612 covers by ValleyBell and hacked into the game, they were not exactly as heard in the 2019 prototype because it used different soundfonts and obviously, the prototype wasn't exactly discovered as of 2013) and that let off some current incongruencies that are found when comparing S3C to the SO version of S3K (missing fixes & changes) that technically makes the latest 2013 version of Sonic 3 Complete to be outdated compared to its current succesors.

What I'm talking about is that, probably if its for the Sonic Hacking Contest (SHC), a new developing team arranged from Sonic fans, asking the permission from Tiddles & team if needed. The Hack ROM in specific would be called Sonic 3 Complete Revival, as seen from above; This Hack would be packed with considerate fixes and new features (like having an option to disable or re-enable the Super Emeralds, as the developers intended when they where first making Sonic the Hedgehog 3), the changes, fixes and features would be;

-A feature to wether change Sonic Surfboarding animation in the AIZ intro or just left it like the original.

-A sound addition to the LBZ > MVZ cutscene (specifically, the ominous SFX that plays in the S&K intro tune. That TH-ROOOOOOOOOOM that plays when the Death Egg is falling to the conventionally-sized hole in the mountain of Lava Reef like in Sonic Origins).

-A sound fix to the level section of AIZ1 when it's on fire after Fire Breath's invasion-bombing and the catchy and relaxing tropical tune of the level itself is still playing, the AIZ2 level theme should be fittingly playing as well instead).

-A fix to Knuckles' Sky Sanctuary boss intro cutscene, where Mecha Sonic Mk. II destroys the EggRobo itself and explodes with seemingly no animal popping out ftom it like it's previous brothers in Sonic/Tails's Sky Sanctuary level.)

-If its actually possible, add a mechanic to Sonic & Tails's Death Egg Zone Act 2 level that implies that Sonic & Company can't breathe out of mobian orbit (space, basically) and possibly do something about The Doomsday Zone too, or just left it like it is and that Super Sonic can actually breathe in space and other surfaces (like water) for just that moment, unlike Hyper Sonic, Super Tails & Hyper Knuckles).

-Add new sprites for breaking blocks on Knuckles' level routes that aren't AIZ, HCZ, or MGZ.

-Add new sprites for Tails that fit better S3K's aesthethic, unlike recycling his sprites from Sonic 2, changing his palette and taking it for granted.

-Add new sprites for Super Tails & Knuckles to make the look more 'cooler'.


-I'm not completely decided by this, but add The Stinger from Sonic's good ending (Super Sonic with only all 7 Chaos Emeralds) that ties in to Knuckles' campaign by putting a cutscene with EggRobo emerging from his dead brothers, to the Best Ending (Hyper Sonic with all 14 Chaos & Super Emeralds).

-Add ducking and looking up animations when wether Sonic, Tails or Knuckles are in Carnival Night's "Barrel of Doom" to better incentivate the correct way to control this level mechanic to newbies (like in Sonic Origins).

-If possible, add Tails getting to be in The Doomsday Zone when all 14 emeralds are collected. Excluding his fellow flickies who may make the Boss Fight a bit easy compared to Sonic's DDZ.

-If not completely added yet, have Robotnik laugh up to the struggle of our heroes when in a Boss Fight. Just like previous games.

-Have Robotnik bounce on the Boss Platform that is attached to the Death Egg in the Launch Base Zone Big Arm boss, making an actual reason for the platform and the Death Egg from detaching, making the Death Egg fall down to the island's demise (really, if the Death Egg would have fallen in other place than that hole in Lava Reef, it would have caused a great devastation in the island's surface itself).

-In addition to this, have Dr. Robotnik perform his deleted animation where he flees down to the Death Egg in an approach to... Mantain the DE's control to crash-land on a safe surface maybe?

-Make a fix to Knuckles' performation of the Spin-Dash in his fight in Hidden Palace Zone.

-Also, restore his punch ability when you get close to him (I saw this in an S3AIR Mod)

-Some other various fixes and changes to add to the S3CR experience.

I've would say that this Hack ROM would be released firstly in the RomHacking.net site.
