I plan on Making mods one day, I just need to get the right PC and some gear, but I wanted to know where to start, and what to avoid doing to not get banned and make safer Mods for everyone to use?
I hope to help expand this community and I'm trying to learn with every opportunity possible.

As I said in the other thread here,
you won't get banned if you disable Wifi, go to Airplane Mode, try not to go online and cheat, not to install a custom save file, and try not to install pirated games.

But since BOTW is mostly offline(but actually it's online because of Cloud Backup), it's okay to change things like models and gameplay and stuff but not okay to change save files.

This goes to any games on the Switch. Best is to get EmuNAND so that you can do this stuff with no worries except you still have to stay offline.
