Hello guys, I came here to ask for some help. I want to retexture a weapon. It's in Counter Strike SME (which is an offline modification based on Nexon Zombies/CSO), anyway this applies for CS 1.6 as well. So, I know that I have to keep the textures as 8-bit BMP files, but the problem is, I can't save them as 8-bit after editing them. The programs I have at my disposal are Photoshop CS6 and Paint.NET. If anybody can tell me how would I be able to save them as 8-bit BMPs, I'd be really grateful.
In Paint.NET, open the texture, do "save as", change the file format in the little drop box at the bottom of the file explorer to .bmp, then in the save configuration, set the bit depth to 8-bit, then click "OK".
