So... I have been having this problem like a few months or days ago with CS 1.6. What happens is if i double click mouse1 with a weapon (not pistol) or knife it will just keep attacking for a few seconds. For example, let's say I have the AK-47, I double click or press twice fast, the weapon will keep firing! It's different with the pistol though. When I click very fast with the pistol, like, very fast, it will just fire a shot like one shot at every 2 seconds. I searched everywhere for a fix, I tried downloading other CS 1.6's but it was just the same! Please I need help I can't play like this!!! :(
It IS definetly a broken mouse1 . You should try to pute "fire" on mouse 2 or any keyboard button. If it still does not stop shooting, there is something else going wrong. But I am pretty certain that your mouse is broken, happens easier than you might think.
I have the same problem, and tried almost everything, but nothing works, and i just uninstalled cs. I think the problem is with the OS. I have win 10 and I have a few friends who have exactly the same problem. It's like when you make a double click, it doesn't recognize the second click as released, so that's why it continues to shoot, and when you move the mouse, it stops. It works fine on win xp, but who uses xp nowadays?
Im facing the exact same problem. Its strange that with "ENTER" key task it works flawlessly but when u use touchpad or mouse after couple of clicks/shoots, it keeps firing itself... I have both version of Cs 1.6 Steam and nonSteam. With Steam version u dont face this kind of issue. So in conclusion, Its software related issue of nonsteam version Cs.
(Before anything else, ask a friend to borrow a mouse just to test it to see is the mouse problem rather than screwing around with your system!)
Using and third-party drivers for the mouse? Check if you have some sort of macro enabled if you are using a bit modern looking mouse which has those sort of utilities.
Otherwise I'd recommend you to disable the Sticky Keys by pressing Shift several times and disabling all the options in the Sticky Keys!
Also, there's this stuff you may want to check Disable keyboard block while using touchpad, sometimes this can be a issue with mouse too, no matter if you have a Desktop PC or a Laptop. What happens is when you press W to walk and you shoot with the Left Mouse Button the system says, oh! He's using the keyboard so I'm going to detach the mouse, that happens to do it for 1-2 seconds delay, thus while that happens the game keeps shooting because the system got notified that the mouse was detached, but not really "detached"
Tried 3 different mice but had the same problem.. looks to be a driver issue.. At last the autohotkey solution worked for me.. You need to write a simple script to map LButton to Enter and vice versa. I run the script whenever playing and then disable it afterwards. Works just fine now..
