Is it possible to disable jumping on HL2 ?

Hey everyone !!

I'm currently working on a HL2 map that is some kind of a puzzle map. It's nearly finish, but I'm still facing one problem (in fact multiple problems, but this one really annoys me).

Recently, I played the Source mod Alchemilla (a mod inspired by Silent Hill) in which you can't jump. I like a lot that feeling of walking and solving riddles...

So, I was wondering how it's possible to disable jumping in HL2. I found something called player_speedmod with the flag "Suppress Jump", but it don't seem to work...  Or I don't know how to make it works...

If anyone knows how to help me...

    something related to a jump height setting or making gravity heavier i think, not sure.

    Console command:
    unbind SPACE

    (to bring it back, type
    bind "SPACE" "+jump"

    WITH quotes

    You can also try clearing the spacebar in the keyboard options.

    Of course, you could replace the spacebar with anything else if you wanted to use it for something other than jumping.

    Modifying the gravity is not possible because I'm using some physics objects so it would look pretty bad if they were "aspirated" by the ground...

    Also, I thought about unbinding the jump, but the point is that if the player want to bind it again, he just have to go to the options and rebinding the jump, no ?

    What I'm seeking is something like a command or a script that disable jumping.

    For exemple : when you don't have the HEV Suit, you can't sprint at all.
    But then for disable jumping, I might have to change some things in the gamefiles maybe ?

    Player_speedmod does work, you just need to trigger it.

    Give player_speedmod a name, any name.

    Then make a logic_auto. In the output section, type "OnMapSpawn *Speedmodname* Modifyspeed 1"

    I think this causes it to trigger, and if you want to make the player slower, just change the 1 value to something lower like 0.8
