Help with Hammer ):

A Forum Thread for Left 4 Dead 2

Hey guys! I'm totally new here. I've been playing a lot of mods from workshop in steam, and i wanted to try making a map for myself. So i kinda tried.. and failed?

It's my first time working with Hammer and Left 4 Dead 2 Authoring Tools. Heck, this is the first time I'm creating something. So i made a small room and i tried running the map ( F9), but it just complies and it goes back to the map editor. Nothing happens. "Don't run the game after compiling" is unchecked.

Here's the log:

I'm not sure if this is the problem..but I accidentally changed how the .bsp file opens. Currently its opening with Firefox. Anyone able to help with this? :/

What you open .bsp files with is irrelevant, they're accessed from inside the game. Your problem is a leak, which means you either have no point entities, or a point entity can look into the void; in this case you have a weapon_pumpshotgun_spawn that can see the void.

Be sure every point entity is inside the map encased by world geometry, brush entities and transparent textures don't seal your map.
