Lighting Help - A Forum Thread for Counter-Strike: Source.

Hey guys, I'm not too good at explaining things so here's a video of my map thingy: CLICK So my question is...how do I have the lighting change AS the door moves? I really don't want the door to be dark like that after the move. Any suggestions?

The movie didn't help either, but to answer your question, dynamic lights might do that.

Source doesn't have a proper dynamic lighting support.

hlrad.exe calculates the shadows, but since doors and trains and other brush-based entities are entities, then hlrad.exe ignores the door as a brush and calculates shadows just as they weren't there. TIP: If you scale a texture to be smaller, shadows on that area will be better (like sort of in CS:GO)
