A. == ♦ The angle you have to pull the paper at to split it gives a more satisfying tear. ♦ Requires less effort from the second hand used to hold the roll as it's easier to simply rest the hand on the roll as you pull the paper in position A. This is due to the rotation of the roll when you are pulling on the paper. Position A will make your hand want to move upward with the roll when you pull, allowing friction and gravity to keep the hand tightly pressed onto it whereas position B will make the hand want to move downwards, moving with gravity and requiring more effort to keep the hand in place. ♦ Personally I believe it looks better, more 'tucked in' and out of the way than in position B. What is the argument for position B? I can see the toilet paper being slightly closer as a percieved benefit, though the 4-5 inches distance gained are negligible. URL to post:
