I can't adjust the weapon position on a model I'm working on.

Hi everyone! I just need a bit of help adjusting the weapon position on a model I've been working on. I've tried using various offsets like $origin in my .qc file but none of them work. Maybe it's because I'm trying to use it in the wrong place; should I put it in the weapon .mdl? Also, I haven't added the weapon_bone in the phy model, do you think that could be the problem? I've tried rotating it in 3ds max, but rotating the bones had no effect on the weapon position. I'll post a picture so you can see how it looks. The weapon is showing up in the right place, I just need to rotate it a bit so it's straight. ![](http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Kobalt_Kitsune/twilight_front_zpsfff3c318.png "") ![](http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Kobalt_Kitsune/twilight_body_zpsf08c4da1.jpg "") Any help would be appreciated, I've been working on this for a while now and still can't figure it out. What do you guys think I'm doing wrong? I've seen people line weapons up with no problem in sfm, I just wish it was as easy in the .qc file.

You're still trying at this? And yes, you need the weapon\_bone, as well as weapon\_bone\_1, weapon\_bone\_L, all of those.

I added it to the phy model, but it didn't have any affect on the weapon position. :( > **Posted by SergeantJoe** > You're still trying at this? > > And yes, you need the weapon\_bone, as well as weapon\_bone\_1, weapon\_bone\_L, all of those. Lol yeah, I don't give up that easily. Anyway I went ahead and added some more bones to see if it would help. I've got the bip\_hand\_R bone parented to the pelvis and the bones below set as children. Someone on another forum said to use 'ACT\_VM\_IDLE 1 rotate -90 fps' but all that did was rotate the entire model 90 degrees. Here is a picture of how I have the bones set up now: ![](http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Kobalt_Kitsune/weapon_arm_zpsa193b8c1.jpg "")

Hey, I just wanted to post to say I found out how to position the weapon model. I was forgetting to adjust the local bone axis, and that was why I couldn't position it. ![](http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Kobalt_Kitsune/the_correct_position_zpsb4f4ae2b.jpg "") ![](http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag134/Kobalt_Kitsune/weapon_position_completed_zpsd3212fca.jpg "") Hope this helps anyone else having this problem. Thanks for the help guys.

    > **Posted by FiveEyes** > Okay, I gotta ask. What is this mod for? I'm some what interested. Oh I'm just porting the gmod ponies Poninnahka overhauled to TF2. They'll have custom animations, accessories, and a few surprises I'm throwing into the mix. I'm making them for the PF2 heroes servers. Here are the links to the PF2 forums and poninnahka's deviant art if you would like to take a look. :) http://poninnahka.deviantart.com/ http://www.ponyfortress2.com/index.php?/index
