What is that thing called "layout" on the maps?
I have seen many posts refering to it but I still don't know what it is,I would be glad if someone explains it's meaning.
Is it a pretty important thing on maps?

    The layout is just the general shape of the map, and is often mainly associated with gameplay. It's not something technical like optimization or navigation meshes, but it's what everything in the map makes as a whole. A map made for sniping might have a _very large, open layout_, (cbble) whereas a close-quarters map might have a _tight, closed_ layout (office). Given that balance is a key element in every demolition or hostage rescue map, the layout for these maps must always be something that allows for even gameplay.

    Which is why I think a map that has a strong mix of ranged and close-quarter elements makes for a great map in both cases.
    Not as serious as you'd think.
