The title says it all

I only know how to re-skin/texture-edit them with Jed's Half-Life Model Viewer. Also, I need .mdl files, not Steam .SMD's :D

Actually, you DO need smd's. Use mdldecompiler to turn mdl's into smd's and then do the rest. To make viewmodels, it's not exactly a breeze. You need 3ds max or blender 3d and a lot of patience.

No, I don't. I pirated all my GoldSrc games.....

Once again, no, I don't need them.

I tried to follow a GMOD/HL2 tutorial for 3DS Max. The guy didn't bother explaining how to do half-of it -_-
And Blender?? That's even harder D: I have both, but never use them :|

SO yes, please reply someone :3

Whether you pirated your games or not is irrelevant to the process of what you actually do need (although it WILL hinder you from getting assistance most of the time if you admit piracy). If you are wanting to make a view model from scratch and not do a simple retexture, then you DO need the .SMD files, as they contain the data that is needed for COMPILING the .mdl files. Source and GldSource both use .SMD files in order to create the .mdl files (whether they be world models, view models, or whatever c\_models are supposed to be) upon compilation.
Not as serious as you'd think.

You have to compile them, as I hinted in my previous post. You can find a compiling program on this site very easily. You can also find out how to go about compiling the .SMDs into .mdl format very easily on this site by looking at tutorials.

Since I'm not entirely familiar with GldSource games and what their texture format is, I couldn't tell you what plugin(s) you might need. However, applying textures is fairly easy - you drag the texture file into 3DS max, directly on the model itself. Once you let go, the texture SHOULD apply to the model.
