UPDATE: EA is really great at customer support, after talking to a fella named Tim, he spoke to his supervisor and let me get a digital copy of the game for free as well for compensation, just cause of the long wait.
Months upon months ago, EA reset my Battlefield Bad Company 2 stats, because of a supposed report that I was hacking after raping some kid. After an argument with support, I was unbanned and a week later, a 50% off coupon arrives to the EA store. Naturally, I go for the most expensive thing, which was Crysis 2 Nano Edition at that time, 150 dollars, I got it for 75.
Nano Edition came with all kinds of crap. Long story short, today is release day for Crysis. I get an email and find out Nano Edition is delayed due to Manufacturing Errors.
The following happened:
I love EA more than Valve now in my book.
I'm having a hard time believing a company that puts herpes (DRM) in their published games to be nice. I don't mean to sound like a joy killer but I'm guessing they had to do that since they'd probably be sued.
Never the less, I'm happy for you. :)
What game did you but with that discount if you don't mind my asking.
Actually, I've had better things happen to me with Steam and Novint then EA.
For one, Steam let me refund my $50 game (Metro 2033) for the $50 THQ Pack that included Metro 2033 and 6 to 7 other games. They were also able to retrieve my stolen account in about 24 hours to.
With Novint, I was just having a small problem with my Novint Falcon not working on CS:S, so I put up a thread on the forums. After a few replies, they offered me to send it back for free to see whats wrong with it, and give me a free game out of their store.
EA hasn't done shit for me and a lot of other people. I'm guessing you just got lucky.
What, BF3 for 15$???
Jesus fuck, you lucky motherfucker. But honestly I've heard horror stories with the EA customer support, though they are after all stories. EA are not nice though, they will always fuck your shit up somehow.
I looked around forums, everyone that ordered the Nano edition in the US has a delay, so everyone was compensated. I even asked for a Digital Copy and they gave it to me.
It didn't take me 2 days to get anything out of them, just a few minutes.
I'll wait until I see something like this happen for me but it is always nice to see a company putting effort into their customer support. Still EA is being a lot nicer lately, step in the right direction methinks.
We bitched about EA for years and now it looks like they're getting their act together, gotta stay on Activisions back now guys.
