What are your opinions on Measure-Texture maps? You know, the ones that are orange and gray. People say that they take no skill, and are noobish, but i like making them, and I think they look good. What do you think? Do I continue measure, or go onto textures? Ex: http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/141663

    They take no skill and are noobish.

    Proper texture placement and adjustment is a skill of it's own. Not only that, but the disgusting orange and grey/black monotony is hard on the eyes.

    Over all, that map you posted looks nice - but is horrible thanks to the lack of proper textures.

    always hated those maps. they seemed like someone tested the gameplay of the map by its layout and then forgot to use proper textures to complete his work.

    They excel at abstract work, if your making a map with realistic construction then you really should use proper textures and props otherwise it takes away from the map.

    If you like to make them, then right one. But textureing a map is an art, and a HUGE part of mapping. If you expect to get anywhere in mapping you need to make proper maps. Maps with textures, and models. Most "Dev" maps are model-less and do take no skill.
