How to edit existing .smd file?

Yeah hi, i've been thinking about doing a remake of the already existing 1.6 Desert-Eagle and M4A1 in Milkshape, and make the skins more "rounded" or smoother and not as blocky, but HOW do i edit them i.ex make new faces etc.. I know how to work with 3D so don't care about that just tell me how i "unlock" or make the skin available for altering :P Best Regards, Florian Larsson!

    First you decompile them and then you edit the model refrence

    You need a decompiler.... Milkshape has one. Both compiler and decompiler. I use JHLMV compiler & decompiler. There are a few good tutorials on that...

    Oh i think that you've misunderstood me, i already got the .smd files i know how to decompile and i already got the reference i want to unlock the reference for 3D altering i know how to get the reference into milkshape but after that it doesnt want to be altered in terms of adding things.

    Well, my computer broke a few weeks back ind i've forgoten a few things and mixed mdl. with smd. files!

    What do you mean by unlocking the refrence? As i said post some screenshots if you may.

    Yeah sure, i will do when i get home.

    Well, i cant alter the 3d structure and that's what i want to do.. I mean i can delete and elongate stuff but i cant add more edges "thus making the model more smooth" instead of the six edge structure the m4 got now which is just too blocky..
