Durr....

Hello, i was just thinking that i have Windows 7, and when i'm playing CS:S on Low Settings, it's like 30-40FPS. And i think that i should get more FPS and be able to run on higher settings without major lag, so could it be fault of the Windows 7? And does it make difference that should i install CS:S on Program Files, or Program Files (x86)? Or is this laptop just too sucky to play it well. Also, specs of this shitty laptop: Intel Pentium Processor (Dual-Core) T440 2.2GHz, 800MHz FSB Intel GMA 4500M Up To 1308 DVMT 3GB RAM 250GB HDD. Thx.

It should definitely be doing better than that, i get 60ish on mid-high settings on my little old t43. it should not be installed in x86, that folder is only for programs designed to be 64 bit.

Don't recognise the card but the rest looks pretty strong. Seems about equal to my laptop and that hits 100 fps easy. Have you considered background programs?

Other way round. On 64-bit Windows the Program Files folder is the one for 64-bit programs while the x86 one is for 32-bit.

Try shutting down F-Secure when you go ingame and see what it does.

Also try defragmenting your hard drive. Defraggle is a brilliant tool for this over the built in one.

I don't think I can dignify that with a response.

Nevertheless I don't recognise the card is it an integrated?

Integrated card, game over. It's not gonna be much better unless you take out the fan and use compressed air to remove the dust from it.
    I'm pretty bad ass.

Also try defragmenting your hard drive.

Win 7 and Vista automatically defrags the hard drive when its idle. Not many people know this. But I agree that you need to check on whats running in the background. Run msconfig and see what is starting up when you boot up. Turn off all the unnecessary stuff and see how that goes.

Actually it's quite obvious and most are aware of it. Nevertheless the auto run is annoying and many disable it. Furthermore a manual defrag will defrag temporary and onaccess files as well as off access which the autorun will not do.

For this reason it's still a valid recommendation to tell them to defrag and possibly use a more efficient tool like defraggler
