The DSLR range - A230 Sony or Canon? - A Forum Thread for GameBanana.

All of the catalogues (initially Argos' list of DSLR's) say that they for the beginner and such but I was so hard to actually decide on which camera I should buy. I bought Sony's A230 which in fact I am very happy with, but at a price of £499.99 or less, was that good value for my money or waste of money? The ISO setting can go up to 3200 with a lot of noise, but is less visible at 1600. It has all those hoity-totty exposure settings that I know about and the auto-focus and manual focus and the flash compensation and the exposure compensation and white balance. But I thought, has this company (Sony) given what is reasonable for a +£400 camera?
