Is it possible to have a texture that changes appearance when a flashlight is shined on it?
I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to make a brush/texture in hammer that changes appearance when a flashlight is shined on it. e.g. A brick wall but if you shine your flashlight on it, it changes to metal or something else where the light hits the surface.
On another forum I found a list of vmt properties and $flashlight and $flashlighttexture struck me as interesting. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any mention of these properties elsewhere on the internet. (I'm also guessing that this is wishful thinking and those properties do something completely different.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If someone could point me in the right direction, or find documentation on those properties... Thanks! :)
I tried making a texture with $flashlighttexture set to a different material and $flashlight set to 1 and it didn't have any effect. Know any good mappers that would be interested in fielding this question? I don't have a lot of contacts. haha
