Mapping problem

Hi. This is my first day as a registered member here at fpsbanana, so please dont rage if i've posted this in the wrong subforum, or something like that :) I have a big problem with my (first) map im currently creating. I need bulletproof glass at some maximum 4 inches thick. it can be larger, if needed. I tried using an invisible toolsblockbullet, but the deagle somehow penetrated it even tho it was 64 inches thick. Any suggestions?

    Have two 2 inch glass brushes touch eachother.
    Inside both of them have a 2 inch blockbullets textured brush.
    That should work.

    Hmm, it dosent work. I tried both having the bushes like this:
    [glass+blockbullets][glass+blockbullets] and
    [g[[b]]g]

    I also tried tieing all the bushes to func_walls. No diffrence.

    The only way to make glass completely bulletproof is to make it at least 46 units thick.

    Like the above poster said (no idea about his nick), fully bulletproof will be 46. Usp can be blocked with 16 thick. Here is the list for the values:

    I don't know if putting multiple walls on top of eachother helps. If you are going to make visible walls then you could behind it (surround the player) put invisible blockbullets texture which doesn't block players.

    Oh well, i solved it by putting a 46+ thick brush behind it. It didnt affect the gameplay, so im ok with it.

    It wouldnt tell you much. Its a mess atm. The(deagle) bullet somehow penetrates some 100inch thick brushes now. However, when i tried bulletproofing in a seperate map it barely went through <30inch thick brushes.

    Im confused.

    The brush thats being the bulletblocker is a func_brush with toolsblockbullets applied to it. and it dosent 'leak' bullets instantly, i have to shoot the brush 2 or 3 times at the same spot before it penetrates.

    evochinmia could you post a picture of the bulletproof you making, I'm just interested.

    At the bottom of the page you linked to there is a section claiming to explain how to make something bulletproof without it needing to be very thick. The method hasn't worked for several years.

    Don't tie the brush with toolsblockbullets on it to anything. If you do it becomes ineffective.

    Should, but doesn't.
    It all depends on the width of the brush.
